Even in a time of global pandemics and social distancing, it is possible to have fun and enjoy the holidays! Check out these virtual and in-person events over the next two weeks.

At WCC

TABLE: First-Generation College Student Day
Nov. 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Location: 1st Floor, Student Center Building

Description: “The Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’s office will be hosting a First-Generation College Student Day table on the first floor of the Student Center by the bookstore to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of first-generation students.”

WCC Men’s Basketball vs Wayne Community College
Nov. 13, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Description: “Join the fun and cheer at the Washtenaw Community College vs Wayne Community College.”

Club Women’s Basketball @ Macomb Community College
Nov. 13, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Wine, Women, & Shopping
Nov. 12 and 13 from 10 a.m.
Location: Downtown Chelsea area, MI, 48118

Description: “Are you looking forward to holiday shopping? You can get started by attending the 16th annual Wine, Women, and Shopping event! Shops will offer special discounts and help you find what you’re looking for.”

Saline Craft Show
Nov. 13, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Location: 7190 N Maple Rd, Saline, MI 48176

Description: “The Saline Craft Show will have a wide selection of carved wooden signs made from different wood species and hand-painted.”

Virtual 40th Annual Holiday Tree Festival
Nov. 13 at 8 a.m. and Nov.16 at 5 p.m.
Location: Online Event

Description: “Join the Akron Children’s Hospital for this year’s Holiday Tree Festival. There will be trees, wreaths, holiday gifts, and special auction items available.”

Wild Lights
From Nov. 20 until Jan. 9 on selected weeknights, Sundays, 5-9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 5-10:30 p.m.
Location: Detroit Zoo

Description: “The Detroit Zoo will offer 40 nights with millions of LED lights illuminating trees, buildings, and more than 280 sculptures throughout the front half of the Zoo.”
