Sister Pie inspiration talk
The Bailey Library and Entrepreneurship Center will host Lisa Ludwinski, author of “Sister Pie, The Recipes and Stories of a Big-Hearted Bakery in Detroit.” Ludwinski began her bakery Sister Pie out of her parents’ kitchen before becoming a popular spot that has been featured in “Bon Appetit” and “The New York Times.” The event will take place on April 10 at 3 p.m. in the Bailey Library Active Learning Zone.
Police had initially responded to multiple reports of sounds of gunshots, which occurred near a vigil commemorating the victims of the recent mass shooting in a New Zealand mosque.
Officers confirmed the sounds actually originated from popping balloons, which sounded similar to gunshots.
Darwin: Books, Beetles and Botany
Presented by WCC professor David A. Wooten, this seminar will detail the life of English naturalist Charles Darwin and give students a chance to view his private book collection, as well as other artifacts and more. Event will happen on April 10 from 6:30-8 p.m. in Morris Lawrence room 101.
