- During photosynthesis, a chemical creates the leaves’ green color. The chemical chlorophyll will overpower other colors to create the green leaf color that everyone knows.
- Other chemicals in photosynthesis create the fall colors. The chemical xanthophyll creates yellow, and beta-carotene creates orange. These trees are located outside of the LA building.
- Once the green color isn’t produced, the leaves will change. The leaves can be orange, yellow, red, or even purple.
- WCC has a variety of color-changing leaves throughout the fall season. These trees are outside the LA building.
