The following incidents were reported by WCC campus safety officials between Dec. 12 and Jan. 14.
Simple Assault
On Dec. 12 around noon in the parking structure on campus an adult student, female, alleged that an instructor, also female, started to poke the student in the arm when the two got into a disagreement in class about a final exam issue. The instructor said she did not touch the student. A possible witness said they didn’t see any physical contact or anything inappropriate occur. Upon investigation, public safety officials determined no crime was committed. The case is closed.
Larceny
On Dec. 13, a man visited Morris Lawrence building to see his daughter in a play. He and his wife are in the process of getting a divorce and sat together at the play. Later, the man couldn’t find his cell phone and alleged that his wife took it. There is no further evidence or information and the investigation is now closed.
Larceny
On Jan. 8 a college employee who was working late on campus reported a gray tweed hat stolen between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. from his office. The case is under investigation.
Assault and Battery
On Jan. 11 a woman swimming in the pool at the Health and Fitness Center on campus reported that another swimmer, male, brushed up against her in the pool between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m.. She said the touch was not sexual nor was she injured, but she wanted to report it to the police. The woman said the touch was intentional and the man said it was an accident. WCC public safety officials were not on campus at this time because of winter break so a Washtenaw County officer was called.
