WCC students, staff and faculty congregated in the Student Center on Jan. 16 to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.. Attendees honored the civil rights hero with a song from WCC voice and choir director Gayle Martin, poetry from the WCC Black Student Union, and a keynote speech from Erane Washington, a local attorney and community leader. The event featured an “Equity in Action” awards ceremony, which recognized campus community members who stand out in their work to create a more inclusive and diverse campus environment.
